Brand Identity

Brand Identity:

The expression of a brand includes:
• Name
• Trademark
• Communications
• Visual appearance
The brand identity usually reflects on how the owner wants the consumer to perceive the brand, the branded company, organisation, and the product.
Brand identity is what the owner wants to communicate to its potential consumers. However, over time, a product's brand identity may develop, gaining new features via consumer perspectives. Brand identity focuses on authentic qualities of the value and brand promise being provided and sustained by production characteristics.
Effective brand names build a connection between the brand personalities as it is perceived by the target audience and the actual product. The brand name is usually theoretically on target with the product (which is what the company stands for). More so, the brand name is usually on target with the brand demographic. Brand identity is fundamental to consumer acknowledgment and symbolises the brand’s differentiation from competitors.

CD/DVD Digipak Magazine Ad Conventions

CD/DVD Digi-pak Magazine Ad Conventions:
Conventions of a CD/DVD Digipack magazine Ad consists on many things which link to the genre of the media. Image is one of the main conventions as it defines the representation of the genre or the artist. Certain colours used in the font can give each individual a different view upon the Ad. For example, when using dark and vibrant colours like red and black, it can represent gothic, rock, dark, horrific conventions towards the advert.

Importantly the texts font and colour should be kept the same and consistent showing the genre of the album. For example, if it were pop music targeted at females, the font would consists on flexibility and curvy handwriting also using vibrant colours such as pink connoting a feminine colour which attracts females. However if it were gothic music, there would be dark colours used such as red and black connoting the dark and bloody atmosphere which attract certain people to buy the Digipack.

A constant flow throughout the Digipack is very important, for example the colours and design which are used on the front cover should also be used on the back keeping a constant theme flowing.

CD/DVD Digipak Design Conventions

CD/DVD Digi-pak Design Conventions:
The cover of a digipak consists of a colour scheme that is consistent throughout the whole cover, and which reflects the band’s individual iconography as well as the mood of the album. Digipaks seem to be relatively simple. The artist’s name along with the title of the album is usually shown at the top on the front. On the spine of the digipak, there is always the album title and artist name on it. The logo will usually be on the front/back cover or on the album spine. In the centre there’s usually a main image, which in most cases is usually the band logo or the band itself, it can also be anything which relates to the content of the album one way or another.
The back will have the complete track listing on it and may also have an image on it, also, with the artist or the artist's logo usually serving the space were the image goes. This would be next to the track listing. The track listing is clear and usually to the left. Although they are sometimes centred, and I have never seen one that is situated on the right of the back cover. The track listing is also, sometimes, found on the CD itself. The CD is simplistic which may/ may not have a picture of the band/artist on it.
