Interviews (Davina):
1).What music genre do you listen to and what aspect of that genre makes you enjoy it more?
I listen to dub-step, and I like the bass of it and the beat, which makes be get into it more, and with it helps me concentrate more when I study too.
2a).What is your favourite music video and your least favourite video and why?
My favourite video would be The prodigy – invaders must die because it’s really unusual and different, like its unique and seems out of the blue. I don’t have a least favourite video, but I don’t like a music video which is always in sync with the singer singing along because it gets really boring after a while, and you get out off by the song, therefore it should be a narrative and have random clips along with it relating to the song.
2b).What other music videos have caught your eye in the past and why?
Rob Dougan – Clubbed to Death, because the bass and the drops go in sync with the movement in the music video which makes it a lot more interesting and grabs your attention.
3a).Who is currently your favourite band/artist and why?
That would have to be Chase and Status because they link up with other artists and make a dub-step version of a song and they use artists which are also one of my favourites and the music they deliver it awesome and they create different types of music each time and its always the same type.
3b). Is there something unique about this artist that makes them stand out to you? (can you explain what it is and how it appeals to you)
How they feature different artists in their song, and it’s not always the same type of song, for example, sometimes they can have a slow bass with drops however, another time they used an Indian song and made it into dub-step which made then different and unique and grabbed my attention.
4).What type of characters do you like to see in a music video and why?
People who could relate to the song so it doesn’t seem fake whenever they act along with it, and really good dancers which make it more appealing to watch a music video.
5). In a song, which hold more importance to you the lyrics or music or both and why?
I would say the music. The music speaks louder than words to me, because the pace, tempo and pitch are all main elements in a song rather than lyrics which made up the storyline of the song.

1).What music genre do you listen to and what aspect of that genre makes you enjoy it more?
I listen to slow paced and intense songs, and I enjoy it because of the pace and the singer whose emotions I can relate to.
2a).What is your favourite music video and your least favourite video and why?
My favourite music video is Take That – Said It All because I like the use of masks they used and made it seem completely different to other music videos and got across their emotions from the song. My least favourite would be Price Tag- Jesse J, maybe its because I don’t like the song too, but the music video didn’t really catch my attention, I think it needed a bit more different shots of the outside world instead of just in a studio.
2b).What other music videos have caught your eye in the past and why?
Florence and the machine - You got the love, because it was in sync with not the lyrics but there was other things happening too, and it made it seem more upbeat and grabbed my attention. I liked the use of actors, making it seem more real and not looking like the artist is isolated.
3a).Who is currently your favourite band/artist and why?
I like Beyonce, because she makes a variety of types of songs and they’re all just R&B. The songs she produces are very appealing as they aren’t all similar to each other giving a more majority of songs to listen to.
3b). Is there something unique about this artist that makes them stand out to you? (can you explain what it is and how it appeals to you)
Her songs are different, as some can be upbeat and happy and some can be sad and it can relate to you in emotional ways, also he beat of her songs are very appealing which makes it stick into my mind
4).What type of characters do you like to see in a music video and why?
I like to see people who are doing something related to the music video emotion wise, but expressing it differently. Some expressing by dancing, by singing, or some by drinking etc.
5). In a song, which hold more importance to you the lyrics or music or both and why?
Some say actions speak louder than words which I totally agree with. Therefore I like a song with just music, as there are different ways of expressing the emotion in that song, and you can make up your own story line rather than focusing on what it said which makes the song very narrow minded.
