I usually like listening to slow paced songs like listening to American rock as the lyrics are usually meaningful and I also like performers which make me enjoy the song. This genre is listened to by many others which makes me want to listen to it too. Although American rock is not mainstream, there have been many artists that have got into the top 40. The videos and lyrics usually portray a lot of emotion, as this is what I like most in music videos.
2a) What is your favourite music video and your least favourite video and why?
The music video I like the most would be ‘My Love- Justin Timberlake; I really enjoyed this video because it was well choreographed and I personally love the way he can break dance. My least favourite music video would be SNM by Rihanna, this is because the video is revolting and I don’t think people need to see that kind of imagery.
2b) What other music videos have caught your eye in the past and why?
The song by, Wiz khalifa- black and yellow, I especially liked this video because it had random clips of things which all related back to what the song is about. I also loved the way the song starts off with the different angles its shot at. Another one of my favourite music videos is 'Good Time by Roll Deep. I loved this song in particular as it is full of fun and gives off a lively feel to it, which gives off an exciting feeling when watching the video.
3a) Who is currently your favourite band/artist and why?
My favourite band/artist is the fray, I love the male voices and they sing really well, good voices are the main thing I look for in a band/artist.
4) What type of characters do you like to see in a music video and why?
I like to see original characters like the actual band/artist with a good relationship; I just find it more engaging. When the artist performs the track, it gives a real sense of identity. I don't like it when the artist chooses to create a concept music video as it can be made by anyone anywhere, and it's mot the true representative of the music.
5) In a song, which hold more importance to you the lyrics or music or both and why?In a song I prefer the lyrics as they have a powerful hold on the whole song in general. When I listen to a song I always listen to the lyrics, however, the music is also important. With lyrics you can understand the meaning behind the song, especially if there are really powerful lyrics.

2a) What is your favourite music video and your least favourite video and why?
My most favourite music video would have be ‘Nelly-Just a dream’, this is because the concept was a great idea, also the way everything was put together so it all fits in. 2b) What other music videos have caught your eye in the past and why?I also like the video ‘Right there-Nicole Scherzinger’. I really loved the way there’s a lot of dance involved in the videos and the original characters are in the actual music video.
3a) Who is currently your favourite band/artist and why?
My favourite artist would have to be Beyonce, as she is good at dancing, singing and performing also her voice and lyrics both are really powerful.
3b) is there something unique about this artist that makes them stand out to you? (Can you explain what it is and how it appeals to you?)
Her voice is what’s so unique about her, no one can sing quite like her. Her lyrics also have a lot of meaning behind them which can relate to certain aspects of my life. Also her tunes and rhythms of her music are also really engaging.
4) What type of characters do you like to see in a music video and why?
I like to see the characters doing something related with the what the song is about, especially if they’re a type of dancer, it makes it more interesting.
